Prof. George Banting, Dean Faculty of Biomedical Science and Prof. Timothy Gallagher, Dean Faculty of Science from University of Bristol, United Kingdom visited Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University on Wednesday 25^th May 2016. They presented and discussed with Prof. Dr. Kiat Ruxrungtham, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Polkit Sangvanich, Dean of Faculty of Science, the delegate from Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine. This meeting have a discussions around:

1. Possible research collaborations involving the Newton Fund
2. The recently announced and VERY big Global Challenges Research Fund.  The opportunity to work together to identify potential areas for interaction is there and Thailand
3. Potential co-tutelle arrangements (2+2) at PhD level - 2 years in Chula, 2 years in UoB - PhD from (effectively both unis)
4. A discussion around the potential value to you of Centres for Doctoral Training, either as an entry point for Thai scholars or as an opportunity to learn from our experience in order to "import" this model into the top Thai universities
5. An "accredited" (Higher Education Authority) teaching and learning qualification.  We have developed a course (CREATE) for our new academic staff, which is an essential requirement for promotions, and is aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching.
